FAQ - Therapists

  • aloe helps you to reach new clients and grow your professional network. It works in part as a directory for new clients to find you, and in part as a professional networking site (think LinkedIn for therapists) for you to share your reflections, career developments, or join supervision or peer support groups.

  • As a therapist, you can:

    • Receive and respond to text messages from clients - these can be therapy seekers or therapists looking for supervision

    • Join or start professional networking groups that you are interested in

    • Post short videos and articles on your profile to give potential clients and other therapists a better sense of who you are. If you write articles as part of your CPD hours for a professional body like the BACP, you could post and log these as posts on your aloe profile.

  • No, you can offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions. We do not want to lock users into a virtual therapy platform because we understand that some therapy seekers prefer to meet with their therapist, and that sometimes therapy works more effectively in person. You have the freedom to work with clients via your normal video/audio platform, or to meet with them in person. Currently, therapy seekers use aloe to find therapists and exchange text messages with them. We are happy to include video/audio call capabilities if there is enough demand in the future :)

  • Yes, we believe that you know your business best which is why you have the final say in how much to charge your clients.

  • Clients pay you directly. However, we understand that payment admin can be annoying - if enough therapists in the aloe community want a feature on aloe to help them with that (e.g., managing payments, late cancellations, currency conversions) we would be happy to build it for you in the future - let us know!

  • If you have been invited to join aloe as part of our beta group of therapists, congratulations! We have chosen you specifically because we believe that your personal and professional profile aligns with the community that we are growing at aloe. As a beta therapist, you have a unique opportunity to shape how aloe is built - we want you to tell us about any features that you think would help you in your work with clients, and that can help you develop your own professional profile as a therapist.

You will have 6 months of free access to the aloe app, starting from when your profile goes live. Your full profile will be visible and you can respond to client enquiries. You can also post about your achievements, follow and interact with other mental health professionals, LinkedIn style.

  • Should you wish to continue after the 6 months trial, you can choose from:

    • a monthly membership of £14.99 on a rolling basis, or

    • an upfront annual membership of £145

VAT is included in both figures above.

  • Each on of our beta members (therapists and therapy seekers alike) are individually selected, based on how well we think their profile suits aloe’s current stage. If you have been personally invited to join our beta community and think you know someone who should also be considered, let us know!

  • Absolutely! They are welcome to sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of our homepage and keep in touch as we develop.

At the moment we are dedicated to working with our hardworking beta community to make sure that aloe meets their needs. In the future, and after consulting with our beta community, we will establish an aloe referral programme - more details to come.
